Foundation


VERUM - Foundation for Behaviour and Environment - based in Munich was established at the instigation of a group of German university professors in the form of a public foundation under German Civil Law. The assets of now 4.1 million Euro are made up of the basic assets provided by the Founder and endowments of third parties.

The Foundation is supportively active. Between 1992 and 2002 it was able to support more than one hundred research projects and to distribute subsidies to numerous scientific workshops and conferences due to generous donations from the Founder. In 2004 the Founder agreed to a change of the statute and with this renounced any influence on the Board. Since then the Foundation relies solely on the profit from its assets so that direct grants had to be considerably reduced.

Therefore, the Foundation started alread in 1999 to draft research proposals for submission to the EU's Framework Programmes for Research, so that in this way European research teams can receive funds. Up to now, four projects
