Welcome
Since 1992 the Foundation promotes research into the effects of personal behaviour and of the environment on human health in order to improve our knowledge in this area and to provide the basis for preventive medical measures. Because of our limited means it is not possible to cover the whole area and this is why the Board always decides on certain topics: Since 2012 the supported research focus is "Age-related neurodegenerative diseases". These are Alzheimer, Parkinson, motor neurone and prion diseases, and ataxia. The decision to move the focus especially to dementia is based on EU-Projects already initiated in 2000 and then co-ordinated and successfully completed by the Foundation. Too, it is based on the appointment of new Board members with the corresponding expertise.
